Rachel “Motivates You” Edwards

Rachel M Edwards is a native of the Bay Area, born and raised in Pittsburg, California. She is the youngest of seven children and the mother of four; Ragene, 20;  DaJanae, 16;  Dandre, 11 and Mikaylah, 9. Rachel is recently divorced after 14 years of marriage.

Rachel has worked in the administrative field for over 20 years and in the counseling field for about ten years, which includes mental health, addictive and Christian counseling.

 

Rachel’s desire for outreach was inspired when she co-organized conferences with Pastor Mechelle Rabot, Founder of DIVAS By Design International, an organization for women suffering with issues from addiction and abuse to suicide. Rachel worked with Pastor Mechelle for 15+ years, and as an assistant and co-organizer of the conferences for three years.

 

Rachel holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management and a Master’s in Counseling. She is currently a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in the state of California. One of her future goals is to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in California.

 

Rachel is also the Founder and Director of Women of Virtue Organization, an organization designed to improve the health and wellness of women, children and their families. She believes the organization to be a divinely appointed assignment to serve the community by helping those in need to reach their full potential. She refers to the Power for 4-E’s, Educate, Equip, Empower and Encourage as the key to help accomplish the mission of Women of Virtue and refers to herself as the “The Motivator”.

 

Rachel has experienced many trials and hardship. She is a domestic violence survivor, has overcome depression, low self-esteem and anxiety. However, she explains that through her experience, both professional and personal, she is determined to help women who are currently facing or who are recovering from similar circumstances. She will be launching her life consulting business, Empowered Living Life Consulting in 2016.
