Chapter Title: Tragedy to Triumph

Sequoia Moss was born in the East Bay Area Pittsburg, CA. Adversary found her at an early age, losing her father to the prison systems at 4 months old and being raised by a mentally ill teenage mother. Physical and mental abuse, molestation and heartbreak was prevalent in her life. Sequoia went on a roller coaster of catastrophes that landed her in foster homes, juvenile hall and group homes, eventually landing her in the hands of a pimp at age 16. Drugs, prostitution and domestic violence followed her into adulthood. She has fought an uphill battle searching for The Most High. Many mistakes and self-inflicted trauma caused her to surrender her life to YAH (God). Divine intervention has brought her spirit back in the hands of YAH. She has learned to value being transparent and her mission is to share her journey to inspire others. Sequoia is a wife to a loving, supportive husband and her union has been blessed with 3 beautiful children. She is a licensed cosmetologist, certified phlebotomist and recent nursing school graduate. She runs a small home business, Shalom Temple Care, that brings awareness to taking care of your temple (your body) and restoring spiritual and holistic culture to women. She realizes the importance of self-love and sisterhood and strives to revive what has been lost. Sequoia’s story is to restore faith and for others to see that darkness isn’t your final destination in life.
