Born and raised in the heart of San Francisco’s Hunter’s Point projects, Monique McCoy knows first-hand how violence, addiction and low self-esteem can affect generations in the community. Her love for writing surfaced at a young age, where she began to transfer her thoughts onto paper through song, poetry and storytelling. Monique’s passion for the well-being of others is evident in her blog titled “Itz Morning”, where she provides thought-provoking perspectives about everyday life. Her mission is to encourage self-love and self-development through motivational speaking. Monique is a member of Toastmasters international, an Ambassador for her local Chamber of Commerce, and sits on the committee for the Chamber’s “Empowering Ladies in Leadership” organization. She resides in Antioch California with her husband and two sons.
